The popular battle royale still going strong and recently introduced a new gameplay mode, as well as Cyra, a support-centric hero.

PS5 Pro Runs Naraka: Bladepoint Twice as Fast as Base PS5

Regarding the PS5 Pro, Liu explained how it will influence performance on Naraka: Bladepoint, with the final game running two times faster than the base version of PS5. PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) is comparable to NVIDIA DLSS, with small visual differences in detail. Liu praised the PS5 Pro’s hardware, pointing out the most extensive GPU upgrade as a key benefit, with performance improvements especially if you’re playing competitive titles like Naraka: Bladepoint.

Variable Rate Shading (VRS) has also helped with rendering times for competitive play, Davis mentioned. According to Liu, the upgrades for PS5 Pro offer better frame rates and higher fidelity in quality between graphical modes like Quality, Balanced, and Frame Rate modes. Liu also spoke about the visual modes of this game, that Naraka: Bladepoint will run at 4K 60FPS on PS5 Pro without upscaling which is an upgrade from the PS5.

While the PS5 Pro does enable more impactful visuals, he noted that a performance gap still remains against high-end PCs due to the CPU constraints in a live-service battle royale game. It also stirred up the price of Sony’s new console. According to Liu, that headroom costs money and is priced into a product based on GPU and CPU performance characteristics that will provide developers room to squeeze away extra graphics technology. The price point is higher of course, but Liu hopes that won’t stop players from playing a new game with their favorite stylings as Naraka: Bladepoint will be supported on both the PS5 and PS5 Pro versions.
