Due to the unfortunate accident of Rishabh Pant, he won’t be able to take part in major tournaments like IPL and other bilateral series. BCCI has shown a great gesture as the board will be paying him his entire salary of Rs. 16 crores despite missing out on IPL. The board will pay him 5 crores as the central contract payments in full. He has been ruled out for almost six months.
Rishabh Pant is a centrally contracted player who gets paid 5 crores every year. BCCI has will be paying his salary in full. The other players who have been ruled out due to injury, get paid in full amount by the board.
Rishabh Pant underwent surgery on his knee on a Friday evening. He suffered two tears in his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and medial collateral ligament (MCL). Pant will miss out on IPL and other major tournaments like Asia Cup 2023 and ICC ODI World Cup.

Pant was evacuated from Dehradun to Mumbai on Wednesday to have treatment for one of the two ligament injuries in his knee. He was operated on by Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala at the Kokila Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. His knee surgery was a bit complex since it involved ACL and MCL surgeries. He will take a minimum of four months to recover from the surgeries and another two months tp regain match fitness.
Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala had previously worked with Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja as well as with other athletes.
Pant, 25, sustained several injuries after his car crashed with a road barrier on the Delhi-Dehradun highway at about 5:30 am on December 30. The car accident happened between Manglaur and Narcan in the Haridwar district of Uttarakhand.
