Reverse wireless charging in the coming Apple iPhone series

Apple may add a “slightly larger” wireless charging coil to the iPhone 13 series. Moreover, it will not only produce better thermal management and higher power, but will also pave the way for reverse wireless charging.

MacRumors quoted Max Weinbach as reporting Apple plans to make the physical wireless charging coil larger in next iPhone. This will increase the surface area for inductive wireless charging.

Weinbach previously reported that iPhone 2021 will contain equipment with stronger MagSafe magnets. Now, he reiterated that this may be a reason to increase the size of the coil. Weinbach also speculated that the larger coil size can be in use for reverse wireless charging. This will allow users to charge by placing wireless charging compatible devices (like AirPods) on the back of the iPhone.
