The ODI and Test captain of the Women’s Indian team, Mithali Raj, and the star off-spinner of the Men’s Cricket team, Ravichandran Ashwin, are recommended by the BCCI, for the honourable Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award, as per reports.
Also, sources state that the BCCI will recommend the Indian pacer, Jasprit Bumrah, and batsman, KL Rahul, for the Arjuna Award. Shikhar Dhawan will also join the list, who missed it the previous occasions.

Some sources state that there has been a detailed discussion regarding this, and it was decided to recommend the names of Ashwin and Mithali Raj for the Khel Ratna. Also, some sources from the ANI stated that Dhawan will be recommended for the Arjuna Award alongside Bumrah and KL Rahul.

Khel Ratna is regarded as the highest sporting honour, and in 2020, five athletes including Manika Batra, Rani Rampal, Rohit Sharma, Vinesh Phogat, and Mariyappan Phangavelue received the award.
Contributions of Mithali Raj and Ashwin
Mithali Raj is one of the greatest batters of all time, and probably the greatest, the Indian Women’s team has ever produced. Also, she is the second-highest run-getter in the world in Women’s cricket, as well as the highest run-getter from the Women’s Indian team.
She appeared in 11 tests, 215 ODIs, and 89 T20s for India, and has 10,203 runs in her pocket, across all formats of the game. Besides, she has 77 half-centuries and 8 tons as well.
On the other hand, Ravichandran Ashwin, is one of the finest spinners, of the Men’s Indian cricket team. He has represented himself in 79 tests, 111 ODIs, and 46 T20s for India, and has a total of 615 wickets across all formats. Also, he has an incredible record of five-wicket hauls, which he has done 30 times.
