Last week, England’s Jude Bellingham became the youngest player to feature in a European Championship match. The Borussia Dortmund man was 17 years and 349 days when he came on for England against Croatia.
It has only been a week, and his record has now been broken by Poland’s Kacper Kozłowski, who came on as a substitute in the 55th minute against Spain. He helped his country to battle it out for a draw.
Kacper Kozłowski was just 17 years and 248 days old when he came on against Spain, which is 100 days less than Jude Bellingham. The teenager had already made three appearances for his country before his European Championship debut.
It has been a fairytale story for Kacper Kozłowski. He was involved in a life-threatening car accident and fractured his L3 vertebrae of the spine in January 2020. One and half years later, he has made European Championship history by becoming the youngest player to play in Euros.
