PBKS registered a big win against CSK on Sunday, as they defeated the yellow army by 54 runs. The losing streak of the four-time IPL Champions Chennai Super Kings continues as they lost their third match in a row in TATA IPL 2022, and at present, they are in the 9th position of the points table, just before Sunrisers Hyderabad who has only played one match and lost it. PBKS put up a score of 180 with the loss of 8 wickets on the scoreboard, and in return, CSK got all out in 126 in 18 overs. Here are three facts that we witnessed in the match leading to this consequence.
Counter Attack by Liam Livingstone
CSK were in control in the initial phase of the match when they got out Mayank Agarwal in 4 runs, and also when Chris Jordan run out Sri Lankan power hitter Bhanuka Rajapaksha in 9 runs. However, that control didn’t last long, as Lian Livingstone came at number 4 and started to counter-attack taking Shikhar Dhawan by his side. The Englishman scored 60 of 32 balls with 5 fours and 5 sixes with a strike rate of 187.50. He also picked up 2 wickets conceding 25 runs in three overs and was given the man of the match award.
Failing top and middle order of CSK
None of the CSK top order as well as the middle-order batsman could play long innings, and they all started to get back to the pavilion at infrequent intervals. Only youngster Shivam Dube played a good knock of 57 of 30balls with 6 fours and 3 sixes. Also at the end, MS Dhoni tried with the last gas left inside him, but he got caught behind in the ball of Rahul Chahar.
Brilliant bowling by PBKS
Getting all out a team in modern-day T20 cricket is not a thing that we get to see very often. However, all the PBKS bowlers got wickets and made the CSK batsmen see the path towards the pavilion. Rahul Chahar got three wickets, while Livingstone and Vaibhav Arora got 2 each, and Rabada, Smith, and Arshdeep got one each.
