For years, the audience had been frantically dreaming of the day Obi-Wan Kenobi would get back in some capacity to the big screen. Scottish actor Ewan McGregor is way too exceptionally talented to not desire to re-cherish his role as the legendary Jedi master. Rather than trying to make a movie about Kenobi’s exploits while he took care of Luke Skywalker in Tatooine, Disney Plus came up to be the best place to narrate the story.
A limited series featured with cinematic-level production was absolutely enough for this character to return in a perfectly worthy fashion.
Ewan McGregor is Teasing the Obi-Wan Kenobi Series For Close to Two Years
After teasing the Obi-Wan Kenobi series for close to two years, McGregor finally realized the story proposed to him was definitely worth his time. Now the production has been concluded and the series is currently standing at the editing stage. Fans were curious to know the release date and that’s finally here.
Release Date for the Obi-Wan Kenobi Series
Initially, Star War fans were willing to have the release date on 4th May, which is Star Wars Day. However, the release date is finalized on May 25th. The day is not far and the audience will finally get to see where the plot takes Obi-Wan Kenobi. What’s more exciting is that there will be more cameos from both the exact trilogy and the prequels. Dave Filoni, creator to many, will surely have an appearance in the upcoming series.
Will the Audience See Darth Vader Making an Appearance?
Ewan McGregor has officially confirmed that Darth Vader will be seen in the series in some capacity. However, in canon, Obi-Wan doesn’t face him until the happenings of ‘A New Hope’.
However, there can be different ways through which both the characters can be cast in the story without crossing paths with each other. We also have the confirmation that Hayden Christensen will be back as Anakin Skywalker for the series and recall the brilliant moments he lived during the early stages of the 2000s.
