Palworld to Get Cross-Play in Late March, Surpasses 32M Players

Pocketpair, the developer of Palworld, has confirmed that cross-play will be introduced in late March, allowing players on PC via Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and Mac to play together. According to the latest developer notes on Steam, the update will also enable multiplayer between the various platforms as well as introduce the ability to transfer Pals between worlds.

Cross-play has been one of the most heavily requested features since the game’s early access launch. Pocketpair had previously announced in January that this feature was on the way in 2025, along with a number host of other quality-of-life improvements. These features include improvements to the world-object placement and base Pals, even more, endgame content, and general game optimization — that will hopefully all be released ahead of its full release.

Further to that upcoming update, Pocketpair also revealed that Palworld has recently passed the 32 million player mark across all its available platforms. This milestone further proves Palworld is one of the most anticipated multiplayer survival titles in recent years.

While it has achieved commercial success, Pocketpair is facing legal hurdles from Nintendo and The Pokémon Company. There are patents in question and the two companies have sued the developer for allegedly infringing these patents, the case is currently being heard in court. But Pocketpair has also pushed to expand the Palworld brand beyond the game itself.

Sony has also collaborated with Pocketpair to launch official Palworld merchandise, indicating the company’s desire to dive into new business opportunities and grow the franchise further. The cross-play update is scheduled for this winter, and with a growing player base, Palworld is continuing its evolution, offering comrades new ways to play the game, and undoubtedly leaving its mark on the industry.
