Barcelona will go face to face with Juventus at the Gamper Trophy on Sunday. Gamper Trophy is taking place at Camp Nou for a long and it is a traditional season curtain-raiser at the club. Before some days of the match, the club released the jersey numbers of the players.
Barca gave the shirt numbers to the players who will be a part of the match, however, none of the squad members will wear the jersey number 10 of their former star player Lionel Messi, according to the club. Messi official left Camp Nou for a few days, still, his jersey number will be vacant at the club at least for the time being.
The Jersey Numbers of the players
Memphis Depay who is newly signed at the club seems that he will wear the jersey number 9, and Martin Braithwaite seems to wear the 12 jersey number. With the departure of Carles Alena from the club, Riqui Puig will wear jersey number 6.
Alongside this, star footballer Sergio Aguero will play with the number 19, against Juventus, 17 will be in the hands of Emerson Royal. Apart from these new jersey numbers, other jersey numbers are the same, without any change. The only two jerseys which are missing, are 10 and 16 which belonged to Messi and Pedri Gonzales respectively.
Pedri is now at the Olympics hence couldn’t attend this match. It is expected that these jersey numbers will remain permanent. And it is a great matter of speculation that who will the jersey number 10 in the future or it remains vacant forever in the squad.
