Netflix’s video-game strategy is still in its early phases, and the company is working to improve the game selection in its mobile apps. According to news agency ANI, the streaming giant will release its first first-person shooter game later this month.
According to Variety, Netflix will soon release ‘Into the Dead 2: Unleashed,’ a zombie-apocalypse shooter marketed as the “perfect runner/shooter combo.” According to Netflix, armed players must fend off ever-increasing zombie dangers while “traversing dangerous terrain… Maim, mow down, and destroy the Dead – anything to keep advancing.”
There are various chapters in the game, as well as dozens of stages and challenges (navigating burning forests and frozen mountain tops). According to the ANI report, players can also unlock and improve accessories such as guns, firearms, and explosives.
Netflix members may download games directly from the streaming service’s mobile app for Android and iOS, which has a dedicated games area.
The 14 other games currently available in Netflix’s app are: ‘Arcanium: Rise of Akhan’, ‘Asphalt Xtreme’, ‘Bowling Ballers’, ‘Card Blast’, ‘Dominoes Cafe’, ‘Dungeon Dwarves’, ‘Hextech Mayhem: A League of Legends Story’, ‘Knittens’, ‘Krispee Street’, ‘Shooting Hoops’, ‘Stranger Things: 1984’, ‘Stranger Things 3: The Game’, ‘Teeter (Up)’ and ‘Wonderputt Forever’.
Netflix has acquired two game studios as part of its video-gaming expansion: Night School Studio, best known for its supernatural mystery adventure title ‘Oxenfree,’ and Next Games, a mobile games developer based in Finland, whose titles include the story-driven puzzle game ‘Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales,’ as well as two based on the hit zombie series ‘The Walking Dead.’
