Rumours of Apple’s M2 chip reportedly launching next year
The Apple M1 chip has had a huge impact on the PC processor market. This is possible with its strong performance and energy efficiency. According to a report, other chip manufacturers are still trying to catch up and beat it. Although it is under speculation that Apple is ready for a successor. Moreover, it is likely to be named after the M1 chip. There are rumors that the name will be the M2 chip.
The Apple M1 chip uses TSMC’s 5nm process node in manufacturing. However, according to reports, the so-called M2 chip is expected to be produced using TSMC’s 4nm processor notes. The 4nm process node means that the upcoming processor will be more efficient and powerful than its predecessor.
A report by Guo Mingqing, a trustful TF International analyst is out. Apparently, the Apple M2 chip is also expecting its debut next year with the Apple MacBook Air. The M2 chip is to have a total number of eight cores, including four high-performance cores and four power-saving cores.
Presumably the processor also has an improved graphics core. In addition to the, the Cupertino-based tech giant is also expected to release a high-performance version of the M1 chip. Moreover, it will be called the M1X. The processor is expected to be equipped with 10 cores and approximately 32 core GPUs for better graphics performance. The company expects to introduce the processor in its 2021 Apple MacBook Pro series.
Currently, Apple has not confirmed whether it will release these two processors. However, if this happens, they will put the market leader in trouble.
