Kylian Mbappe’s transfer saga was one of the most exciting parts of the summer. But on the final matchday of the season, it was revealed that he would be staying at the club with a new contract.
La Liga was infuriated by his decision, since he was expected to either stay at PSG or join Real Madrid. As a result, they launched a legal battle to annul his new contract. This was because they believed that the Financial Fair Play rules had been violated by the new deal.
The Spanish league also asked for the cancellation of the validation of the club’s accounts by the National Directorate of Control and Management (DNCG).

They accused PSG of “distorted balance sheets, deliberately fanciful provisional budgets” and for having “made up the system of” related parties “implemented with sponsors depending directly on the Qatari entity,” such as the country’s tourist office.
However, despite the rage surrounding Kylian Mbappe’s decision to take a high paying contract and snub Real Madrid, the decision has been ruled in the Parisian’s favour.
As a result, the court in Paris has dismissed the case. But, the balance sheets will be analysed during the upcoming season. And if it is true that PSG are offering terms that are financially impossible, the DNCG is expected to intervene and take appropriate action.
