Reports stated that Belgian star footballer Kevin De Bruyne has tested positive with the COVID-19 virus. Manchester City’s manager, Pep Guardiola said that De Bruyne caught this virus on international duty with Belgium and at present, he is in isolation. Guardiola also said that he found he was caught by coronavirus on Wednesday. He is vaccinated and has got back in England.
The star midfielder will not appear in their Premier League match against Everton, which is on Sunday, as well as their Champions League match against PSG on Wednesday. The Man City manager said that the symptoms will be minor hopefully and at present, it is important that when he comes back. When he tests negative, he will join the training session as soon as possible.
Kevin De Bruyne for Man City
De Bruyne is considered as one of the best midfielders of the current generation, and his absence for some time will be some sort of loss to City. The city is overall a good team and might manage against Everton, but locking horns against a Champion team like Paris Saint Germain, with Neymar, Messi, and Mbappe in the team. It will be much tough to fight against the Ligue 1 giants, and it is to be seen how Man City performs without Kevin De Bruyne.
Problems for Man City
De Bruyne appeared against Estonia on Saturday for his national team and against Wales on Tuesday. Pep Guardiola further stated that their forwards including Phil Foden and Jack Grealish are sustaining injuries on their duty with the England national team. Also, it is confirmed that Jack Grealish will not appear against their match against Everton in their Premier League match, but Phil Foden is still not ruled out. It is to be seen how Man City performs lacking Kevin De Bruyne on their team for some time.
