As match 32 got completed cricket fans saw another mouth-watering match between RR and PBKS. Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings have always been gifting such wonderful thrillers and they did the same as well on Tuesday at the Dubai International Stadium. RR registered a victory against Punjab kings just by 2 runs in the match of raining sixes and fours.
The Match
Rajasthan Royals started brilliantly from the start, with both the openers Evin Lewis and Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 36 of 21 and 49 of 36 respectively. Also in the middle order, Liam Livingstone and Mahipal Lomror made a good partnership knock. Livingstone played an impactful 25 of 17 with 2 fours and 1 six. On the other hand, Lomror was destructive in his innings, scoring 43 of just 17 balls with 2 fours and 4 sixes. The Royals in the first innings finished at 185.
In reply, PBKS too had a good start with captain KL Rahul scoring 49 of 33 and Mayank Agarwal scoring 67 of 43. In the middle order, Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran also played a good knock of 26 and 32 respectively. However, Rajasthan made an exceptional comeback at the end and successfully defended their total.
Unbelievable comeback by Rajasthan Royals
Rajasthan Royals did come back at the end efficiently. At a certain point in time, it was an easy equation for PBKS and it seemed like the match is in their pocket. From the penultimate over of Mustafizur Rahman the real fight started when the runs required were less than the balls remaining.
Even in the last over, only 5 runs were required. The bowling department was outstanding. Though RR missed 4 catches in the match still they fought back, when Kartik Tyagi picked up 2 wickets of Pooran and Fabian Allen and helped his team defeat their opposition by 2 runs. He was given the man of the match award in the post-match presentation.
