The four teams that have gained spots in the IPL 2021 Playoffs are Delhi Daredevils (DC), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), and the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). A look at all the teams
The Daredevils top the points table with 20 points having 10 wins and just 4 losses in their cabinet. The Rishab Pant-led side has put up a decent display throughout the tournament and has deservingly finished the league matches on the first spot. With the batting being impressively led by Shikhar Dhawan, the bowling has done brilliant, Nortje being superb!
Indeed they are going to give a tough fight to the Super Kings who are in the second position with 18 points. Gaikwad, Faf du Plessis has been great with the bat, whole Jadeja didn’t fail to blow the audience with his tremendous all-around performance. CSK has lost three consecutive matches before the playoffs and would be surely eager to take on the Daredevils in full form.
Qualifier 1
The Qualifier 1 between these top two league teams will take place today, starting at 7:00 p.m. (IST) live from the Dubai International Stadium. Considering their overall performance in the entire tournament, it’s hard to pick a favorite. The team that plays good cricket for the concerned 3 hours, wins! The winner of this match reaches the final while the loser will get another chance and shall play with the winner of the Eliminator.
Eliminator
The Eliminator will kick off on October 11 between RCB and KKR. RCB was phenomenal from the beginning of this season itself and the Virat Kohli-led side hasn’t disappointed their fans. They have finished third on the points table with 18 points. Maxwell has been the key for the Royals with the bat while the current Purple cap holder Harshal Patel has been magnificent with the ball. Moreover, their last-ball victory against the Daredevils in the last league match will keep them extra charged to prepare for the Playoffs.
The Kolkata Knight Riders, who are in fourth place with 14 points, didn’t have a good time in the first phase. However, in the second phase, they have bounced back magically and have very deservingly reached the Playoffs. Venkatesh Iyer, Rahul Tripathi, Shubman Gill have put up a great batting display while the bowling department has been great too. Their last match win against the Rajasthan Royals at a remarkable margin will keep them extra motivated to take on the Royals. Hence we are sure, a week packed with excitement awaits us!
