The Sunrisers Hyderabad managed a sensational win by just 4 runs over RCB at Abu Dhabi today. As the final week of IPL14 is approaching, fans are getting to see more spine-chilling matches.
After the Sun Risers were sent to bat, they put up a total of 141 runs on the board with 7 wickets down. Jason Roy played a fine knock of 44 runs while the skipper Williamson got 31. Harshal Patel once again looked impressive, picking up 3 wickets, conceding just 33 runs in 4 overs.
Performance by RCB
Glenn Maxwell’s form in the second phase of IPL 14 has been a true plus point for the Royals. RCB seemed to be going well while chasing the fair target until the good-going Maxwell (40) fell prey to a swift runout from the opponent skipper. Devdutt Padikkal was sent back to the pavilion by the 21-year-old star Afghan spinner Rashid Khan. With AB de Villiers batting in the crease and 13 runs needed in the last over, the equation didn’t seem unreal for the Royals. George Garton was the other batsman in the opposite end.
However, it was the SunRisers Hyderabad who stayed strong and stole the victory in the end. Bhubaneswar Kumar bowled a magnificent last over. Despite being gone for a six in the third last ball, he kept his nerves and didn’t allow the opponent to reach the target. Fans got to see an amazing game of cricket, packed with entertainment and thrill! For his decent knock and good captaincy, Williamson was declared as the Player of the Match.
Dream of going to the top
After this match, RCB still stands there at number 3 in the points table with 16 points earned so far. They will be facing the Delhi Daredevils in their last match while Hyderabad has their remaining fixture scheduled with the defending champions Mumbai Indians.
