As per Fabrizio Romano, Inter Milan is parting their ways with Alex Sanchez. Reports confirm that the club has reached an agreement in principle with the footballer for terminating his current contract with them, and they will part ways with immediate effect, which is just before the final detail is signed.
At present, Alex Sanchez is a free agent with Olympique Marseille among the clubs getting interested to sign him. Fabrizio Romano first disclosed this news on Twitter, which got mixed types of comments both in for and against this decision made. However, some are also thinking that what will be Inter’s next step, as well as where will finally Alez Sanchez go next.
Alex Sanchez’s contract with Inter Milan
The 33-year-old was under contract with Inter until the next year, i.e., till June 2023. However, he is was not the part of Simone Inzaghi’s plans and besides , he couldn’t continue being the highest paid footballer of the team. He earned 7 million euros per season after he joined the club on a free transfer from Manchester United 2 years back in September 2020.
Going for a higher deal
Reports also state that Alex Sanchez rejected a big 4 million euros deal, to break it early for which the agreement was reached higher that particular figure, and reports also state that, that deal was stuck at 4.5 million euros. Calcio e Finanza pointed out in this regard that till the deal was under 6.5 million euros, Inter could have earned a profit.
Performance by the footballer
Alex Sanchez overall delivered well for Inter, made 108 competitive appearances for the club, and registered 20 goals along with 23 assists, which is a pretty good stat. In addition to that, he also helped his club to emerge victoriously in one Serie A season, the Italian Super Cup and Coppa Italia.
