    Indian Women Football Team to take part in the Four-Team Tournament alongside Brazil, Chile and Venezuela

    The senior Indian Women football team is preparing to participate in an international four-team tournament in the last week of this month. Other participating teams include Brazil, Chile and Venezuela. Arrangements are made by the All India Football Federation (AIFI), keeping in mind the upcoming tournament of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup in January 2022.

    Kushal Das, AIFF general secretary, stated about India’s participation in the tournament alongside Brazil, Venezuela and Chile. He even added AIFF and different other International Relations sectors are in constant touch with several member associations to make arrangements for the national team to help them have the best preparation that will boost them before the AFC Women’s Asia Cup which is all set to take place in the next two months.

    Brazil currently holds the 7th spot in FIFA Women’s Football ranking and Chile is in 37th place. Venezuela is there on 56. Currently, India stands at 57th position.

    Full Preparations are Going On

    The preparations have started full-fledged for the upcoming tournament as the camp has been set up in Jamshedpur. The majority of the players and staff members have joined the camp while vital names like Aditi Chauhan, Soumya Guguloth, Ritu Rani, Manisha Kalyan, Dangmei Grace, Dalima Chhibber are yet to join. Priya PV, the assistant coach is there on the list too. Reportedly, they are with Gokulam Kerala for the current AFC Women’s Club Championship 2021 and will be arriving at Jamshedpur after November 13th.

    India’s Fixtures

    India will be facing Brazil on November 25th and take on Chile on 28th. On 1st December, they will have their encounter against Venezuela. CBF (The Brazilian Football Confederation) will possibly live-stream the matches.
