The former Secretary of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) JS Deepak shared some of his concerns this week. India needs to invest up to US $ 10 billion in data infrastructure. Moreover, this is on a yearly basis to close the country’s widespread digital divide.

A broadband infrastructure fund should be established that includes a corpus of private sources.

The USOF has a strong cash reserve of Rs 55 billion. It aims to strengthen telecommunication connections in rural and remote areas of the country. It also funds the ambitious BharatNet project, which aims to cover 361,000 villages through gram panchayats (GP) or village blocks.
Moreover, the digital economy is worth US $ 29 trillion, which represents approximately 30% of global GDP. Tech giants like Apple, Microsoft, and Amazon are some of the major contributors.

DoT emphasized that in the digital age, telcos are embracing new technologies. These include virtualization, software-defined network / network functions (SDNNFV), Internet of things, artificial intelligence, Internet of things, blockchain, etc.

However for the 5G market to grow, the ecosystem needs more integrated devices. This includes connected cars or connected ships, and does not necessarily focus on consumers first. Mike Short (CBE) said that he is the first to market 5G. Moreover, the main scientific adviser to the Department of International Trade of the UK Government added an important detail. These devices must be related to both cell phone and satellite. Policies for assigning satellite and cellular spectrum should be consistent, Short said, considering that the government assigns cellular spectrum at the national level instead of assigning satellite spectrum at the global level.
