The Indian Hockey team has registered a historic win against France at the FIH Pro League, by defeating them with a score of 5-0. Not only did they defeat their opponents with a 5-0 lead, but it is also a remarkable record that the 5 goals were netted by all 5 different players of the Indian Hockey team.
Though in the beginning, it seems that both the teams were giving a tough fight to each other, and indeed it was, but from the 21st minute, till the 41st minute, the stage was all for the Men in Blues.

Not only scoring goals, but the Men in Blues was way ahead of the French Hockey team, in all the aspects of the match, including shots taken, penalty corners, and circle penetrations. India took a total of 22 shots t the goal, whereas the French National team took 9. Coming to the circle penetrations, France’s number here was 26, and India was 8 ahead, i.e., 34.
In addition to that, India got 4 penalty corners, out of which they successfully utilized 2, and France got 3 penalty corners. The only aspect where France equally competed with the Olympic Bronze Medalists was in ball possession, which was done with a percentage of 50:50.
Goals scored by Team India
Team India scored their first goal of the match in the 21st minute, which was netted by Singh Harmanpreet, from a penalty corner. The second one was scored swoon in the 24th minute by Kumar Varun from a penalty corner as well, making the lead 2-0.
The third and fourth goals were scored in 4-minute intervals on 28th minute, and 32nd minute, by Singh Shamsher and Singh Mandeep respectively. The last goal, i.e., the 5th one was scored by Singh Akashdeep making the lead 5-0.
