    IND vs NZ T20 series: Tim Southee is the second bowler to bag a hattrick, Suryakumar Yadav scores his second T20I ton

    In the second T20I between India and New Zealand, Tim Southee bagged a hat trick at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui. Southee’s hat trick made sure that India doesn’t put in a total of 200 though Suryakumar Yadav smashed a ton.

    He gave only five runs in the last over and finished with 3/34 at an economy of 8.5 in his allotted four overs. After Sri Lankan bowler Lasith Malinga, he became the second bowler who registered two hat tricks in the T20 format. His first one came in 2010 against Pakistan where he scalped the wickets of Younis Khan, Mohammad Hafeez, and, Umar Akmal. Now, he’s the highest wicket-taker in the T20Is with 130 scalps attached to his name.

    Suryakumar Yadav also known as Mr. 360 due to his batting abilities smashed his second ton in the T20I. Before the series, he mustered 239 runs in the T20 World Cup 2022. Now, even the BCCI and selectors can’t ignore him.

    He reached his fifty in 32 balls and scored an unbeaten 111 runs off 51 deliveries. He had hit seven 11 boundaries and seven hits as he has a strike rate of 217.65. His performance helped India reach a total of 191/6.

    In 2022, Yadav will still lead all scorers of runs in the shortest format. In the year, it was his second century. He continues to be the only batsman with more than 1000 T20 runs in 2022. He has 1151 runs under his belt with an average of 47.95 and a strike rate of 188.37. After him, Mohammad Rizwan (996) of Pakistan and Virat Kohli (781) of India are ranked second and third, respectively. Yadav combines surreal imagination with physical power and flexibility (particularly in the wrist).

    The third match between India and New Zealand will be played on November 22 from 12:00 PM IST.
