    Skipper’s brilliant performance

The first positive thing that led Gujarat Titans to win their maiden IPL title was the brilliant performance by the skipper Hardik Pandya himself. Firstly, he did a brilliant job in bowling, picking up 3 wickets in 4 overs, conceding 17 runs, and those three were the main wickets of Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson, and Shimron Hetmyer.

In batting, when GT lost the early wickets of Wriddhiman Saha and Mathew Wade, he handled the business with Shubhman Gill scoring 34 of 30 with 3 fours and 1 six. He was given the man of the match award for his brilliant performance.

    Pandya and Gill Partnership

When Gujarat Titans came to bat in the second innings, they lost two wickets early. From that position, skipper Pandya handled the job, alongside Shubhman Gill who scored a sensible 45 of 43 deliveries with 3 fours and a six. Shubhman Gill was dropped by Chahal at zero of Trent Boult, and Gill made full use of that. In the end, he took his team past the victory line by finishing the innings with a six.

David Miller making it easy for Gujarat Titans

Though Pandya and Gill built a partnership, still the match wasn’t completely out of RR’s hands. The RR bowlers were doing quite well, till Chahal dismissed Pandya. But, after that, when Miller came he simply took the game out of Rajasthan’s hand by scoring a speedy 32 of 19 with 3 fours and a six.
