According to a recent source, Sony Santa Monica will provide players with a wide range of graphic settings for God of War Ragnarok, including those that support 4K/30 FPS, 60 FPS, and an FPS Performance mode that syncs to 120 HZ mode on monitors.
Multiple play modes are now available in new-generation video games, with certain options prioritising performance and framerates while others favour aesthetics and authenticity.
God of War Ragnarok supports 120hz, according to a Press Start discussion of the graphics setting options.
This essentially indicates that it is intended to run at an unlocked framerate that strives to maintain a framerate of at least 60 frames per second. The location of the environment and the gameplay aspects will affect framerate, according to a statement from Sony to IGN.
The modes listed in the report are as follows:
- Favor Resolution: 4K/30 FPS Locked
- Favor Performance: 60 FPS Locked
- Favor Resolution (High Frame Rate On): 4K/40 FPS Locked (HDMI 2.1 required)
- Favor Performance (High Frame Rate On): Syncs with 120hz (HDMI 2.1 required)
Like with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, using the 120hz option requires that your television have HDMI 2.1. Meanwhile, the 40 FPS option, which is available only through HDMI 2.1, is quite similar to the one we saw in The Last of Us Part I from last month.
