Gerard Pique’s hard time is continuing in a more difficult way as time progress. His former Barcelona and national teammate and present head coach of Barcelona, Xavi has reportedly clarified to him that the centre-back is not a part of his plan for the new season.
The former Barcelona and Spain midfielder Xavi was a longtime teammate of Gerard Pique during his football career. The midfielder has returned to the Spanish La Liga club last November as a new manager, where he started a fresh chapter.
Even in the tough period of the club, Xavi inspired the Barcelona players, who gradually started to perform well and even dominated for some time.

Now, Xavi has reportedly told Pique of his no excitement about him for the new season. According to media reports, Pique’s unprofessional conduct, business interests and physical issues are the key problems for the Barcelona head coach.
While Xavi hasn’t reportedly denied Pique’s current ability to perform at the highest level, he believes that the hectic schedule can be a major problem for the 35-year-old centre-back, who is also the highest-paid player in the club at present.
As Barca are currently going through a major financial crisis, Pique’s salary can be a big issue for the Spanish club. Moreover, Pique is reportedly owed around €40million (£34.3m) by the club for deferred payments.
On the other hand, a Spanish daily newspaper SPORT has recently reported another issue related to Pique. The report suggests that Xavi is unhappy with Pique’s current various business interests off the field.
Recently, Xavi and Gerard Pique had a meeting according to many media reports, where the head coach opened up his true mind to his teammate. Pique’s current contract with the club will run till 2024 summer. However, Xavi and Barca both want to let him go as soon as possible.
However, some media reports have also claimed that Pique has no intention to leave the Spanish club. The 35-year-old centre-back is desperate to improve his quality by working harder.
