NVIDIA announced that the native GeForce NOW application for the Steam Deck, initially revealed at CES 2025, is now available for download. Previously, users were only able to access GeForce NOW on the Steam Deck via its in-built browser, which was nowhere near ideal. Installation is now much easier and less complicated than ever before, as it can be done right from the NVIDIA website, and users can simply follow a few steps to have it installed on their portable device.

NVIDIA Launches Native GeForce NOW App for Steam Deck with 1440p 120FPS Streaming and New Game Additions

NVIDIA points out that by streaming games through GeForce NOW, Steam Deck users could save as much as half of their battery life versus playing those same games natively on the Steam Deck. GeForce NOW on the Steam Deck features support for up to 1440p at 120 FPS while connected to a monitor, and up to 4K at 60 FPS while playing on a TV. NVIDIA plans to enhance the streaming experience further, with upcoming features such as 90 FPS support expected in future updates.

HDR10 support is available for premium members subscribed to the Ultimate or Performance tiers of GeForce NOW. This feature works in handheld mode but requires the Steam Deck OLED model, as the original Steam Deck does not support HDR10. HDR10 also functions when the device is connected to a TV or monitor. Subscribers to these premium tiers will also benefit from advanced RTX features like ray tracing and path tracing, NVIDIA DLSS 4, and Reflex in compatible games.

    GeForce NOW 3 1

Alongside the app launch, NVIDIA revealed six new PC games added to the GeForce NOW library. These titles include Nice Day for Fishing, a new release on Steam as of May 29, Cash Cleaner Simulator, Tokyo Xtreme Racer, The Last Spell, Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, and Torque Drift 2, available on the Epic Games Store.
