Huge loss for Barcelona
Barca initially forecasted 791 million euros revenue standing 932 million dollars for the fiscal year of the 2020-21 year. However, this thing has been assumption-based as everyone thought that the fans would return to the stadiums to see football which ultimately didn’t happen. Fans were officially not allowed to enter stadiums since last year’s December when the covid19 pandemic was gradually rising.
The last Thursday, approval came from the board of directors stating that the close of the fiscal year for the current season with a huge loss of 481 million euros standing at 565.4 million dollars.
Joan Laporta said regarding these losses in a press conference
The president of Barcelona FC, Joan Laporta earlier disclosed these losses they faced in a press conference in August. Then, he also explained the departure of Messi to Paris Saint Germain, and why this step was taken by him, due to the club’s financial condition.
One significant thing that Laporta disclosed in that conference is that Barcelona has a massive debit amount of 1.35 billion euros standing at a massive height of 1.587 billion euros. Barcelona’s tough time indeed seems never-ending, they have to wait for a long time to get fully recovered from all these issues.
