Facebook is releasing its smartwatch? What are they offering Can they beat Amazon or Google with this?
If you don’t mind big technical companies hoarding your personal data and already have the Amazon Halo or a Google Wear OS watch, then you have a lovely surprise from Facebook. The company has apparently started working on its own smartwatch and brand.
Currently, Facebook is working on a debut that could be out in the near future. This debut will help to merge its Facebook Portal with Oculus VR headsets in its roster of hardware.
However, Facebook refused to comment about this product. Moreover, the enterprise wants to stay silent about its future hardware and wearable plans. All the speculated information about the smartwatch comes from a few reports that contain leaked data and information.
Smartwatch release date and speculated price
There are rumours that the smartwatch will premiere in 2022. According to one of the reports, Facebook plans to launch a second-gen edition in 2023, so the possibility of this being an annual product is quite high. Depending on how the first device is received, there will be changes in the plans of Facebook.
Regarding the price, some reports suggest that the smartwatch could cost $400 depending on the region. This converts to around £280 or AU$520.
However, this is a very rough estimate, so the final price could vary a lot from this.
So far, we have received two main reports about the Facebook smartwatch. Moreover, they paint extremely different images of the function and design of the product.
Facebook’s smartwatch is rumoured to be oriented towards very health-focused and a good communications device.
