Erling Haaland has been in phenomenal form in the last season, and this year also, things haven’t changed for the Norwegian, except for the striker playing for Manchester City in the Premier League. He has been proving his worth since his time in Borussia Dortmund, and since then, there’s no stopping him. Especially from when he came to Man City in July 2022, he has been on a whole different level, with scoring goals and hat-tricks.
Haaland registered his 4th hat trick in his 19th PL appearance
The young Norwegian hasn’t played even 20 matches in the English Premier League but has already started to surpass the legends of the tournament. On 22nd Jan, in Man City’s match against the Wolves at the Etihad Stadium, Erling Haaland scored his fourth PL hat-rick, that too in just 19 games.
No one is even closer to him, as the next name on this list is Ruud van Nistelrooy, who registered his fourth hat trick in his 65th appearance. The list also holds some other Premier League superstars, including Luis Suarez, Alan Shearer, and Robbie Flower, who secured this achievement in 81, 86, and 89 games, respectively.
Haaland’s record beats former Golden Boot holders
The newcomer in the Premier League has even beaten the tally of former golden boots in the last four seasons. In the 2022/23 season, Erling Haaland has registered 24 goals already, which at a mind-blowing goal-scoring rate, breaking the record of 22 goals of Aubameyang, Salah, and Mane in the 2018/19 season and 23 goal record of Vardy, Kane, and Salah and Son in the rest of the seasons.
Erling Haaland has already established his name as a brand in the world of football. Getting him into a club will indeed be a dream of many, and with Manchester City getting the best of Haaland, it doesn’t look like they are going to part ways at any cost in the coming years.
