    England create a world record for scoring the highest runs in an ODI match

    The England Cricket team created a new world record of registering the most runs in a single match of a One Day International game. In their tour to the Netherlands, in the first ODI, they demolished their opposition by a mammoth margin of 232 runs. They batted first and scored a total of 498 by losing only 4 wickets in the first innings. The biggest score created by any team in the history of cricket, with a run rate of 9.96. They broke their previous record of 481, which they scored against Australia.

    Performance by England batters

    Three centuries came from the English batters, namely, Phil Salt, Dawid Malan, and Jos Buttler. Phil Salt, scored 122 of 93 deliveries, with 14 fours and 3 sixes, and Malan scored 125 of 109 balls with 9 fours and 3 sixes. After the phenomenal performance by these two, Jos Buttler, Coming next, scored a destructive 70 ball 162, with 7 fours and 14 sixes.

    These three England internationals came one by one consecutively and paid justice to their job in the best way. Also, Liam Livingstone at the end scored a stormy 66 of only 22 balls 6 fours, and 6 sixes, with a strike rate of 300. England was 2 runs short of 500, which many expected that they might achieve the same, but what they achieved is also not any less from the 500 run mark.

    Netherland getting all out at 266

    England put up 498 in the first innings, and such a giant target handed the match to their side as well. However, the Netherlands still fought well on their turn. Though they lost by 232 runs which is a huge margin, they scored 266 runs, which is overall a good score in ODI cricket. With this victory of England, they registered a 1-0 lead over the Dutch.
