Delhi Capitals picked up an easy win against Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday at Wankhede Stadium. The Capitals defeated the Knights by 4 wickets, with one over left, and once again ex-KKR star Kuldeep Yadav was given the man of the match award for his bowling performance.
DC initially won the toss and choose to bowl, while KKR batted first, and put up 146 for the loss of 9 wickets on the scoreboard. DC trembled in their batting a little bit but secured the win at the end with ease by chasing down the total in 19 overs, with 4 wickets in hand. Here are three factors to consider from the match.
Tight bowling by Delhi Capitals’ bowlers
The first factor that paved the path toward victory for Delhi Capitals is their magnificent bowling. Though Shardul Thakur and Lalit Yadav conceded a bit of run, except them, all the Delhi Capitals’ bowlers were good at their job. Especially, Mustafizur Rahman and Kuldeep Yadav picked 7 wickets together, destroying the middle order of KKR. Though Nitish Rana scored 57 off 34 with 3 fours and 4 sixes, Mustafizur got him out in the last over, else the run would have been a bit more for KKR.
Kuldeep Yadav’s 4-wicket haul
In the last encounter between KKR and DC, Kuldeep picked up 5 wickets and was given the man of the match. He did a similar thing in this match too, picking up 4 important wickets of KKR, and playing a great role in restricting the Knights to 146.
Shreyas Iyer’s Captaincy
Shreyas Iyer has been a good captain for Delhi Capitals but has not been that good for the Knights. In the present season, 19 players have played for KKR, signifying that the players aren’t stable and are changing in every match, Also, Shreyas Iyer gave 8 bowlers to bowl in their match against DC, and didn’t make the correct use of all of them.
