Death Stranding finally arrives on Xbox although not available until June, Kojima Productions announced that the highly distinctively styled game would come to Xbox Series X and S next. First launched as a PS4 exclusive way back in 2019, Death Stranding was the first title released by Hideo Kojima after the messy breakup of his then-famed relationship with Metal Gear before it arrived on PC two years later.

The Death Stranding Director’s Cut is out now with a 50% launch discount on Xbox Series X/S and Windows PC, published by 505 Games as of November 7, 2024. Its release also coincides with the five-year anniversary since the game first launched on PS4, indicating that Sony’s exclusivity deal for Death Stranding has finally run out.
The new version of the game, Death Stranding Director’s Cut, sees players once again stepping into the boots of Sam Bridges to help heal a broken world in the aftermath of a catastrophic event — the Death Stranding, which caused life and death to intertwine. Samʼs mission is to bring hope by binding the remnants left of America.
The Director’s Cut adds further content, like the “Ruined Factory” area, new delivery tools including cargo catapults and ramps, and more meaty melee combat moves like the dropkick. Added the Maser Gun, which stuns enemies for a short time and short-circuits vehicles. Players can test their perfect weapons loadout at the new firing range, and “Racetrack” mode brings online time-attack competitions. You can even ride Buddy Bots to quickly traverse the wasteland.
This announcement comes at an exciting time for Kojima and Death Stranding, with the highly anticipated sequel, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, slated for a 2025 PS5 exclusive release, and a movie adaptation of the first game currently in development.
