The fearsome Xenomorph from the Alien franchise will be the newest horror icon to appear in Dead by Daylight. Since its first release in 2016, Dead by Daylight has amassed a massive roster of killers from various media, including Freddy Krueger from the Nightmare on Elm Street films and Nemesis from Resident Evil 3.

The asymmetrical multiplayer game throws four survivors against a serial killer in an attempt to survive the night without being seen. Recently, Hollywood star Nicolas Cage was added to the Dead by Daylight roster, along with some amusing benefits for players to discover. With the addition of Cage as the newest survivor, Behaviour Interactive has returned its focus to the killers.

In a video provided by the official Dead by Daylight YouTube account, players are teased with the slow-building Alien emblem before receiving their first glance at Ridley Scott’s renowned Xenomorph.

The short trailer lasts less than a minute, but it introduces players to several sequences from the films, including a brief peek at the hexagonal table from the Nostromo. Jonesy, Ripley’s cat, can also be spotted roaming the halls of the derelict spaceship. The video concludes with a tease that further information regarding the latest Dead By Daylight expansion will be released on August 8.

Fans will no doubt be delighted to get their hands on the Xenomorph when it is added to Dead by Daylight, demonstrating that Behaviour Interactive is still supporting the extremely popular title despite its release in 2016. The crew doesn’t seem to be slowing down, however, as a Dead by Daylight poll was emailed to supporters last month to gauge interest in potential future crossovers.

While the Xenomorph is unquestionably one of the most recognizable horror figures of the previous few decades, their portrayal in video games has been a mixed bag. There are seemingly terrible efforts like Alien: Colonial Marines for every critically lauded game like Alien: Isolation. When Alien: Dark Decent was released in June 2023, it fared slightly better with critics.

Dead By Daylight is available on Mobile, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
