The upcoming Season 3 Reloaded update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 will add a tonne of new content to the games. Call of Duty has evolved significantly since its first installment. It seems absurd to even consider, but the series used to charge a lot of money for extra content after the game was released. Players would pay $15 – $20 for packs that gave them access to a handful of new maps and occasionally a gun or new modes, but it was a pretty poor value compared to what we get now. These post-launch updates are now completely free, with optional premium bundles for cosmetic items, but we’ve come a long way since then.
Call of Duty has done an excellent job of providing new content for its games, even going so far as to have seasonal and mid-season updates.
Season 3 Reloaded adds a tonne of new content to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Warzone 2, including the addition of Kevin Durant as an operator. On May 10th, a new 6v6 map called Alboran Hatchery, a new Raid, a new wave-based Spec Ops mission, and new modes like Giant Infection and 3v3 Faceoff will be released.
Warzone 2 will receive Ranked Play, new gameplay additions such as the ability to find/purchase a second Gulag entry to give you a second chance, and purchasable Perk Packages from purchase stations.
Needless to say, it’s a massive update, and a slew of bundles are also being released at the same time. There will be a bundle that serves as a throwback to the original 2009 Modern Warfare 2, complete with cosmetics and weapon audio from that game. Details are scarce for the time being, but it appears that we will learn more about it when the update is released.
