Portuguese forward Betinho has opened up about his shock at being mistakenly added to Manchester United’s Premier League squad. The 29-year-old revealed that he got more calls on that purpose than on his birthday.
The mistake was detected before United’s match with Nottingham Forest, as the Premiere League website listed Betinho with squad number 11.

Following the listing, a ci fusion started coming up, and fans quickly suggested it could be the former Portuguese youth international Betinho with the same birthday as the anonymous forward present on the Premiere League website.
He had his brief tenure at Brentford on loan. Since the 2019-20 campaign, he has had over 60 appearances for SC Espinho. He revealed that following the error, he’s been flooded with messages on social media.
Speaking to the Portuguese newspaper Journal de NotÃcÄ«as, Betinho said,
“I only knew it was true when my mates sent me messages, and then I confirmed that it was indeed my name on the Premiere League website. I got more calls today than on my birthday.“
What did he do in that situation?
Betinho took the opportunity of the situation and posted a screenshot of the Premiere League page on his Instagram, he wrote:
‘Thank you, Manchester United. See you soon.’
He even tagged Portuguese internationals Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot. He joked, saying,
‘It’ll be a pleasure to share the dressing room with you.”
He even shared a photoshopped picture of his earring United’s uniform with a killer message,
“The joke is getting serious.”
During Betinho, he reveals he works as a personal trainer as well as appearing for SC Espinho in the Portuguese lower risks.
