A BCCI Apex Council Meeting will be organized, where it will be to offer a bumper Diwali for the domestic cricketers. It is expected that the cricket board of India will probably hike their pay.
In the upcoming meeting which will take place on September 20th, a discussion will be there regarding the match fee for the domestic cricketers, which might be hiked by almost 40%. Along with these, the board of conjunction along with the state bodies will probably offer central contracts to the domestic players.
Domestic Cricketers Pay Hike
As per the reports, the Apex Council might approve the proposal of raising the domestic cricketers’ match fee. And even the match even will increase up to a minimum of Rs.50,000 which they will get per match day for the first class and one-day matches. And also for the t20s, they will play, Rs.25,000 will be given to them.
At present, the players receive Rs 35,000 for each match at the Ranji Trophy, along with the Vijay Hazare trophy. Rs.17,500 will be given per match to the ones who will be in the Syed Mushtaq Ali t20s. Apart from these players, the ones who warm-up at the bench will get 50% payment of the match fees.
The central pay hike
Moreover, there are other great features to be given to the domestic cricketers is the addition of central contracts for them by the State bodies. Though there is hasn’t been any official confirmation regarding this, but the BCCI president Sourav Ganguly said that this can become a reality soon.
Women Cricketers to be a part of the pay hike
The great news for the women cricketers is that they will also be a part of this pay hike. At present, they are paid Rs.12,500 for each ODI and Rs.6250 for the t20 matches. As per the sources, their salary hike might increase up to 25 to 40%.
