Ark: Survival Ascended, the Unreal Engine 5 remaster of the hit dinosaur survival game Ark: Survival Evolved, has been delayed from its planned August release date. Ark: Survival Ascended, which was revealed earlier this year, aims to combine all of the original game’s DLC expansions into a more streamlined package ahead of the Ark 2 sequel.
With its emphasis on being able to fight and tame a variety of different dinosaurs, Ark: Survival Evolved has swiftly become one of the most popular titles in the field of survival games since its 2015 debut. The sequel Ark 2 was initially revealed at The Game Awards 2020, and it will include Hollywood actor Vin Diesel as it continues the survival franchise using Epic’s freshly created Unreal Engine 5.
With the release of some of the first Unreal 5 titles, such as Lords of the Fallen and Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, approaching, Ark enthusiasts have been keen to discover more about Ark 2 and Survival Ascended. Fans will, however, have to wait a little longer for the latter.
The Ark: Survival Ascended remaster will be delayed from August to October, with no exact date revealed, as the developer works through some issues with Unreal Engine 5.
The DLC expansions from the initial game that will be included in Survival Ascended will be divided and distributed after the remaster’s October release. Survival Ascended will contain the Island DLC on day one, while Scorched Earth will be available in December. In addition, the Ragnarok and Aberration DLC expansions will be included in the remaster in Q1 2024.
The pricing of Ark: Survival Ascended will also alter. Its prior price of $60 will be reduced to $45 for early access, with a $5 discount at launch. Furthermore, with Survival Ascended replacing the old Ark: Survival Evolved game, the servers will require a change of guard.
Because Survival Ascended has been pushed back to August, the Survival Evolved servers will be shut down on September 30. The Ark community has expressed dissatisfaction with the requirement to purchase the remaster to continue playing.
Ark: Survival Ascended is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S in October.
