    AMD files a Patent for an Automatic Memory Overclocking Tool For its Ryzen CPUs

    AMD recently filed a patent for an application that can automatically perform RAM overclocking for Ryzen CPUs, making it more user-friendly for enthusiasts. The new technology is designed to assess the stability of memory modules that have been overclocked and to save memory overclocking profiles that are specific to each user’s system locally.

    Overclocking a computer’s memory is a common practice that has gained popularity in recent years. Originally intended to test memory’s ability to process at extreme frequency levels or with minimal latencies, enthusiasts today put their systems to the test to break records and win competitions. In 2007, Intel introduced its eXtreme Memory Profiles, or XMP, parameters that are stored in a module’s aerial presence and triggered on supported devices and components to recognize the chip.

    To be compatible with a wide range of devices and PCs, recommended or particular settings and XMP profiles are fairly standard. However, because no two users’ equipment is the same, experienced users will look for the level with the fastest data transfer rates and the shortest latency.

    AMD aims at offering more ability for developers to fine-tune their CPUs

    The company’s automatic memory overclocking solution aims to give intermediate performance specialists the ability to fine-tune their memory modules and CPUs for the best performance without extensive testing. Users will be able to use less expensive memory with JEDEC standard settings in SPDs to examine the overclocking limitations themselves thanks to automated memory overclocking.     The new AMD overclocking programme will allow the system to detect overclocked memory frequency settings, exit the memory stability test, and then select the optimal timing settings to pass the application’s specified difficulty. Following this, the programme will create a unique profile with the overclocked memory frequency and latency measurements. The profile will be loaded by the software every time you run it after that.
