CSK, DC, MI, RCB, SRH, PBKS, RR, KKR, Lucknow & Ahmedabad are among the 10 IPL teams ready to spend a total of 556.3 crores to fill 217 slots at the IPL Auction. The biggest payday in cricket is just two days away, and every clubs’ management will finalize its auction strategy in the next 24 hours.
“Excited, this is the time to crack the code. This is the time to have the right guys in the team and chase IPL glory”, said a member of the Punjab Kings management.
BCCI Treasurer, Arun Dhumal told: “Can it get bigger than this? This is the power of IPL. Cricketers on Saturday and Sunday will get richer by more than 500 Crores. We wish every team the best of luck for the auction in Bengaluru.” By the end of the auction in Bengaluru, 250 cricketers will have earned a total of 900 crores.
An IPL team can select a maximum of 25 players – 17 of them being Indian players and 8 overseas stars. Each team has been allocated a budget of INR 90 crore for the IPL 2022 Auction. The Auction math is quite straightforward:
- Before the IPL Auction, ten franchises had already signed 33 players.
- 343.7 crores of the total auction amount of 900 crores has already been spent.
- There are now only ten franchises left with a total of 556.3 million dollars.
- At the IPL Auction, 590 players will compete for 217 spots.
- On the 12th and 13th of December, 556.3 crores will be spent on the signing of 217 players.
