    Zinedine Zidane has one regret in his great footballing career

    Legendary France player Zinedine Zidane had a terrific footballing career. He played for some of the biggest clubs in Europe, including Juventus and then Real Madrid.

    However, he has one regret. Despite being from Marseille, he never got the chance to play for the club in his career.

    Zidane said: “I am from Marseille, I left very young and I don’t live here, but I return from time to time and I just know that I am Marseille,” Zidane detailed in an interview with La Provence.”

    “It will be like this for life.”

    “When I was young, at 15, 16 or 17 years old, I was in the stands watching the [Marseille] games and I said to myself, one day, why not? But it didn’t happen, it would have been something strong.”

    He further added: “It was in Marseille, when Franz Beckenbauer was the coach of the club, we won 1-0, it’s a great memory.”

    “It makes me feel something to say that I won in Marseille, but for me it is still fabulous, if I go back to the pitch I remember it well.

    “I had a friend in the team, who is my assistant today, David Bettoni.”

    Zidane has turned out to be a great coach leading Real Madrid to multiple titles including a hattrick of Champions League. He could be interested in the managerial job at Marseille in the future.
