India got a good start to their campaign after beating Pakistan by seven wickets at the Newlands Cricket Ground, Cape Town. With that win, the women in blue continue to dominate the Pakistan women in the World T20 championship, as the head-to-head stands at 5-2 now.

Jemima Rodrigues banged an unbeaten half-century, helping his team pass the winning line. They walked into the 22 yards to chase a total of 150, and thanks to Jemima’s smashing 53 off 38 with eight glorious fours. She got the perfect company from Richa Ghosh, who smacked a 31 off 20 balls, packed with four sensational fours. Their partnership proved to the enough to chase down the target as India finished 151 for the fall of just three wickets.
In the India’s inning, the only two Pakistani bowlers to pick up wickets were Nashra Sandhu (2) and Sadia Iqbal. After winning the toss, the opponent captain Bismah Maroof sent the Women in Blues to bowl, and her side put up a good total of 149 on board for the loss of four wickets. She delivered a great performance, scoring 68 off 55 balls with seven fours in the inning.
The captain was well coordinated by her teammate Ayesha Naseem who also scored a stormy 43 off 25 deliveries that it included two fours and two impressive sixes.
India’s bowling was up to the mark, with Radha Yadav picking two wickets, and both Deepti Sharma and Pooja Vastrakar took a wicket each.
