Chelsea has declared plans to announce a £20-million annual shirt deal with cryptocurrency group Whale Finn.

Crypto is to become the Blues’ new sleeve sponsor from the season 2022/23, while they are also planning to replace their previous sponsor Hyundai.

A partnership has been announced with the Singapore-based Amber group and Chelsea on Thursday, who is said to own the digital asset platform WhaleFin.

The blue whale-themed logo, of WhaleFin, will adorn the sleeves of both male and female teams from the beginning of next season and will replace Korean car-manufacturer Hyundai after four years.

Chelsea is currently subject to government sanctions which made it difficult to negotiate such matters at present. However, as reported by Sky News, the contracts were signed way back in January, before the measures that were imposed on the owner Roman Abramovich and his valuable assets.

As Amber Group continue to expand coverage of their platform globally, they will now have the ability to not only speak to the hundreds of millions of loyal Chelsea fans around the globe but also be seen by the billions who tune into the Premier League each season.”

Micheal Wu, CEO of Amber group shared his thoughts regarding this contract and said, “Our partnership with Chelsea FC is a watershed moment as we embark on the next stage of our growth globally. With the beautiful game’s ability to rally a global audience regardless of culture, language, and nationality, we are excited to showcase the full potential of digital assets to an international audience.”

The blues is also believed to be searching for an alternative main sponsor for their kits, as Three UK drifted from the club during the drama surrounding Abramovich.
