ICC has introduced some changes in the cricket rules which will be applied from 1st October 2022

Batters returning when caught - a caught out will make the new batter coming in stand at the end, the striker was, even if the batters crossed in the mean time.

The use of saliva to polish the ball has been put on a permanent ban.

An incoming batsman will be required to be ready to take the strike within two minutes, but only in Tests and ODIs

A striker or some part of their bat should remain in the pitch and if goes beyond that, it will be a dead ball. Any ball forcing the striker to leave the pitch will be a no ball.

Any unfair or deliberate movement from the fielding side during bowling, will cost the team 5 penalty runs along with the ball being called as a dead ball.

The mankading rule will now be fairly accepted and be considered under the section of run out

A bowler used to throw the ball to the batter who uses to advance down the wicket before the ball has been bowled, to get him run out. This will be a dead ball from now on.

The in-match penalty will be also introduced to ODIs with the completiion of ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Super League in 2023.
