Actor-comedian Vir Das is all set to make his international appearance once again. He will star in the upcoming series, FOX titled Country Eastern. The executive producer for the comedy show will be Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Andy Samberg alongside Jorma Taccone, Akiva Schaffer, Ali Bell, Reg Tigerman over here.
Das is Excited to be a Part of Country Eastern
Das isn’t an unfamiliar face to American television as he appeared in popular shows like “Fresh off the Boat”, “Whiskey Cavalier” earlier.
Talking about the show Das stated, the work for the exciting brand new project is on and he’s happy that the series has developed. He added that the writing for the story is in progress and it’s a unique comedy. Das further expressed his excitement to have collaborated with such big names with years of excellence at work.
Country Eastern: Official Synopsis
The show revolves around a young, wealthy Indian man who, with a motive to restart his life with family, moves to America. With the wish to reconstruct their lives in Memphis, Tennessee, the man makes his decision and follow his passion, consequently becoming a country music singer. However, the only issue seems that he’s that good at it. He needs to gather some real-life experiences in the States to do something noticeable and stand out.
Sam Laybourne is the show runner
Apart from playing the lead in Country Eastern, Vir Das is the producer and writer for the series. Sam Laybourne, who happens to be the writer of episodes in famous shows like Arrested Development, Black-ish, and Cougar Town, is the showrunner for the series.
Next, Vir Das will be soon featured in Judd Apatow directed Hollywood film, “The Bubble”. Indians will be eagerly waiting for his success in Hollywood.
