Once again arguably the greatest of the present generation, Max Verstappen has once again picked up another Grand Prix victory, this time at Monaco. Though there would have been a close finish with Fernando Alonso, however, he beat all the racers by several seconds, and Alonso and Esteban Ocon finished on the podium with him too.
Also, the performance of Esteban Ocon is greatly appreciated, and the Frenchman took +36.990s to complete the race, whereas Alonso took +27.921s more.
Decent performance by Verstappen again
Coming to the tough competition of Max Verstappen and Fernando Alonso, The Dutchman got away perfectly ahead of the Spaniard and was cruising towards victory, but some rain towards the end of the race made things interesting.
Alonso lost a lot of time when his team rolled the dice and kept him on dry tires as the first drops fell, but he had to return to the pits for intermediates once the rain came down more heavily. However, Verstappen continued pushing, brushing the wall multiple times in the time of wet conditions, stayed calm and eventually finished a full 28 seconds ahead of the Aston Martin.
This means Verstappen extends his lead at the top of the championship by 25 more points, given that his Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez could only recover to 16th after starting at the back of the grid.
