Upcoming Games in 2022: May and Beyond

Year after year, games – on Steam and others – are made in such different degrees of quality that none of them are guaranteed to succeed. Masterpieces are published alongside complete catastrophes, series are established while others fade away, and now and again, a game meets our expectations.

The following months (and beyond) are going to be jam-packed with new games, and we’re here to tell you when you’ll be able to get your hands on them so you can plan your gaming year accordingly.

How can we possibly sort through the avalanche of announcements, videos, and teases to figure out which of the new games we should spend our finite amount of hype on?

The year 2022 is shaping up to be a big one for forthcoming games, especially as creators continue to push the PS5 and Xbox Series X to their limits. We’re particularly interested in Forspoken and Starfield, two console exclusives that will demonstrate the capabilities of the current technology.

It’s not only PlayStation and Xbox gamers who are having a good time. Splatoon 3 and Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope are set to come in 2022, putting the Nintendo Switch on track for another successful year. Meanwhile, PC gamers may look forward to games like Baldur’s Gate 3 and Company of Heroes 3. Remember that many of these games will be available on several platforms, including PS4 and Xbox One, so you’ll have plenty to keep you occupied.
