As announced a few days ago, Cristiano Ronaldo wants to leave Manchester United this summer. The player has made the board aware of his decision, and wants to move on to a new challenge in case a good offer arrives for him.
The number 7 returned to Old Trafford only last summer, but was not able to salvage Champions League qualification for the team despite finishing as their top scorer with 18 Premier League goals. He believes that United are not in a position to win any trophies soon, and are showing a huge lack of ambition in the transfer window this summer.
The reason Cristiano Ronaldo wants out of Manchester United
The 37-year-old wants to compete at the top level and challenge for trophies at this stage of his career. He appreciates Erik Ten Hag as a manager, and has said that he is the right man for the job. But, the main problem is the squad.
After the departure of several fringe players this summer, Ronaldo wants to see the club’s ambition in the form of new players. However, Manchester United have only been able to agree a deal for Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord so far. They have been in talks with Barcelona for Frenkie De Jong, but the deal looks nowhere close to being completed.
As a result, the legend now wants to leave if a suitable offer arrives. Chelsea and Bayern Munich have been linked most strongly with him. However, while Bayern have denied any links with Cristiano Ronaldo around a week ago, this position could change if Lewandowski leaves.
