Given that it would have allowed the creators and publishers to capitalise on the excitement for The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power TV series, scheduled to premiere on September 2nd on Amazon Prime Video, abandoning the September 1st date must have been a difficult choice to make. This decision should result in a better final game because many players had remarked that The Lord of the Rings: Gollum needed more time to bake.
