    Tata Curvv ICE and EV Achieve 5-Star Safety Ratings in Bharat NCAP Crash Tests

    Alongside the Tata Nexon, we also found crash-tested images of recently launched Tata Curvv ICE and Curvv EV by Bharat NCAP. Tata Motors‘ reputation for safety, the results were anticipated, and both vehicles have lived up to expectations. The Bharat NCAP ratings indicated that the Curvv ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) and the Curvv EV both achieved 5 stars for adult & child occupant safety.

    Tata Curvv ICE and EV 5-Star in Bharat NCAP

    The Curvv compact SUV from Tata was recently introduced in India, which will sell as both an internal combustion engine (ICE) model and its electric avatar. The Curvv ICE variant that took the test was a diesel-manual variant — the top-spec Accomplished+ A model tipping the scales at 1,715 kg. Standard safety features include six airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, ESC, seatbelt reminders, pretensioners, and load limiters.

    In the adult occupant protection test, the Curvv ICE scored 29.5 out of 32 points, with 14.65/16 in the Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test and 14.85/16 in the Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test. It also scored 43.66/49 points for child occupant protection, earning 5 stars in both categories. After assessing the Nexon EV and Punch EV, Bharat NCAP evaluated Tata’s latest electric vehicle, the Curvv EV as well. The power pack in the version tested was the range-topping Empowered+ A, coming with a beefier 55 kWh unit and tipping scales of 1,983 kg.

    The Curvv EV with a similar safety kit as seen on the ICE version, including six airbags, ISOFIX mounts, and ESC along with seat belt reminders pretensioners and Load limiters Adult occupant protection test scores 30.81/32 pts – a slight bump over the ICE version; which performs with a score of 15.66/16 in the Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test and achieves 15.15/16 in Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test. The EV additionally achieved 44.83/49 points for child safety, which even exceeds one of its ICE counterparts. While the Curvv ICE and EV models look similar externally, their differences in construction are reflected in their safety test scores, with the Curvv EV performing slightly better.
