French developer and publisher Microids has officially revealed Syberia Remastered, a modern reimagining of the beloved 2002 point-and-click adventure. Set to release in Q4 2025, the game will arrive on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Developed by Microids Studio Paris in cooperation with Studio Virtuallyz, and features full, brand-new graphics, optimized puzzles, and a new interface and controls. The developers are working to keep the spirit of Syberia alive and bring it to a new era of players. In Syberia Remastered, players can expect completely redesigned characters and richly detailed 3D environments that remain faithful to Benoît Sokal’s distinct artistic vision. Iconic locations and favorite story moments have been faithfully recreated to provide players with the most authentic experience of these tied-up worlds.
Puzzles have been polished to be more accessible, but still essential to the unfolding story. The UI and navigation controls have been modernized, offering a smoother gameplay experience while maintaining the series’ meditative storytelling style. It follows the lawyer Kate Walker as she attempts to conclude a sale on a small French Alpine village. What starts as standard business becomes a surreal cross-country trip through Eastern Europe.
With her wisecracking automaton companion, Oscar, she joins a search for Hans Voralberg, the genius inventor of the automatons, who is determined to reunite the mammoths of Syberia with her last remaining members of their species on the legendary island of Syberia. This does not constitute Microids’ first remake for the year – they have also reissued the Amerzone – The Explorer’s Legacy, another game from that universe. The latest entry in the Syberia series, The World Before, debuted in 2022 and received generally favorable reviews for its strong narrative, charming characters, and enjoyable puzzles, though it lacked major innovations.
