Sony has confirmed the PC specifications for The Last of Us Part II Remastered ahead of its April 3 release, along with details on PSN sign-in incentives and new content for No Return Mode across PC and PlayStation 5.
Sony Encourages PSN Sign-Ins for The Last of Us 2 Remastered PC with Exclusive Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet Reward
In a post on the PlayStation Blog, developer Naughty Dog detailed the new features that will be available in the PC version, which was developed in collaboration with Nixxes Software and Iron Galaxy. This new version comes a year after the original launch on the PlayStation 5 and gives improved visuals greater hardware compatibility and control customization options.
The Last of Us Part II Remastered PC Features:
- Nvidia DLSS 3 Super Resolution
- AMD FSR 3.1 & FSR 4 (upscaling & frame generation)
- VSync and framerate cap options, including uncapped framerate
- DirectStorage support
- Adjustable texture quality, LOD distance, volumetric quality, shadow quality, ambient occlusion, and reflections
- Ultrawide monitor support (21:9, 32:9, and 48:9 with triple-monitor setups)
- 4K resolution, keyboard & mouse controls, and gamepad compatibility
- 3D audio support
As for controlling the movement via mouse where all keyboard and mouse controls in the PC version are customizable, including having remappable keys, primary and secondary bindings, and more flexible ways of combining keyboard and controller inputs. It also has full haptic feedback for the DualSense controller. The game also comes with comprehensive graphical settings to adjust for performance on a wide spectrum of hardware, from high-powered gaming PCs all the way to handhelds, according to Sony.
No Return Mode is growing, introducing two new characters from The Last of Us Part I, Bill and Marlene. Bill operates as a “Smuggler,” employing a custom pump shotgun, earning double rewards, and bearing immunity from melee attacks but unable to evade. Marlene adopts a “Risk Taker” style, with a built-in custom assault rifle and other abilities, such as being able to reroute her once-per-run No Return path. Four new maps inspired by campaign locations — Overlook, School, Streets, and Nest — are also being introduced.
A free 2.0.0 update releasing alongside the PC version will add all-new No Return content (as well as trophies and bug squashes) on PS5. The Last of Us Part II Remastered on PC will feature an optional PSN sign-in. Those who log in will unlock PSN Trophies, PlayStation overlay access, 50 in-game points, and a new skin for Ellie based on Jordan A.
